The 3 little kids had their first round of conferences tonight. Dave and I were going into them assuming that there really wasn't going to be many, if any, issues.
We meet with Reese's teacher first. She had great things to say about her. She asked what she talked about when she gets home from school - I said, mostly Tanner! She talks about him all the time. She mentions a few other names - Kimberly, Nolan, but mostly Tanner. Ms. Rimmereid agreed. She said that if she has to tell Reese to stop talking or to pay attention, it is mostly because she is talking with Tanner! She is doing great on her letters and numbers and sounds. Working on learning her sight words.
Then we met with Ms. Miller, Dawson's teacher. She said that he is a model student and that if she could replicate students, being like him would be great! He is reading a level "V" which is quite high for 3rd grade. He is doing great with math. She said he listens, pays attention, does his work, is friendly and is overall a great kid. She also mentioned that if it were ever brought up, would we be willing to have him tested for the Gift & Talented program? Yes, we would. Last night at Kendall's basketball, Dave met a girl name Hailee from Dawson's class. She told him that Dawson was a great kid and that he NEVER got in trouble. It is so nice to hear.
Lastly, we met with KEndall's teacher, Ms. Caldwell (she was Dawson's reading teacher last year). She also said that Kendall is doing great. She said that she is friendly, she pays attention, she seems to like art, reading - I had to throw in MUSIC. She LOVES music & talks about Mr. Jay's class. She is reading above her grade level as well as doing math above her grade level.
We are so proud of these 3! Way to go Dawson, Kendall and Reese. On to Carter's tomorrow (where I know we might hear a little bit of what he can improve on!).
