The busy, busy day and Finally...a WIN!

T-ball for Reese in the morning!  It is a warm and breezy day!
In the 2nd photo, I love how I caught Reese in mid-air.  Neither of her feet are on the dirt!
Took the kids mini-golfing with my friend, Melissa & her 3 kids today.  I cannot believe how expensive it is - $8 a kid (Reese was $2 cheaper because she is 4)total of like $36 for the 4 of our kids plus the boys were able to squeeze in another round so that was another $8 total!  Yikes!

Then Carter and Reese had to mow!  High fives for getting the job done!
She had to stop a few times to "fix" her mower!

Carter's game tonight was a really good one.  Not just because they won, but because they actually looked like a team for one of the first times.  I really believe that SEVENTEEN kids on a team is just too many.  But, tonight they were missing 5 players and I think that made a big difference.  Plus, they fielded good (for the most part), their pitchers had good innings and their bats were going.  Guess those are a lot of the components that have been missing for them this year - they have not had them all in one game yet!  :(

The first inning did not look too promising as they were down 4-1 at the end of the 1st.  But, they just kept on going up after that and were able to hold Forest Lake to only 7 runs (2 of which occurred in the 7th inning on mistakes of missing a grounder and over throws, which are 2 things that have killed them this year).  It was so exciting and I hope that they get a little "energy" for the next few games with this win!

Carter had a good game - a strikeout to begin (not good, but at least he went down swinging!), a walk and then 2 singles.  Of course, there were some stolen bases in there too, which he LIVES for!

Way to go Blaine Bengals!
Swing Carter!                         Too high CARTER!
And he's off!
He could go all the way...home!
 Scores!
Love this apeture feature on the camera.  This one I did not try to do but I still love the green field in focus and Carter in the background!  Now to just improve my camera skills!
Actually listening to Coach "Uncle Tommy's" advice on hitting!

Tubing! Beach playing!

What a wonderful day for tubing on Balsam Lake!  Dawn and Todd are out of town, so G & G met us down at the lake for some tubing and some time playing on the beach.  Carter had BB practice (and I am pretty much against missing practice especially for fun activities like this...maybe if sick!) so we had to tube and leave.  But Grace & him sure had a blast!

 Can you say wipe out!?
Oh.  My.  Gosh.  Faces to die for!
I am not a fan of tubing, but look at these grins.  I think that they are loving it!

Carter said that everytime Grace was about to bite it, she said "whoops or whoa (or something like that) here I go!"  Then she fell off.  She definitely fell off on this one, as did Carter!

The color in these next set of photos is unbelievable.  Must have been just the right setting and just the right light and angle.  Love them!

Ants & parties & Splashing in puddles!

We have a little issue with some ants in the house.  I have wiped down cupboards, baseboards and so on, but our deck door is bad so I think that is how they are getting in.  Lately is it just an ant here and an ant there and tonight for some reason, Reese was looking at one on the floor in the kitchen.  All of the sudden she panicked and was like "its on me and its not coming off!"  Dave and I weren't sure what she was talking about when I realized an ant had gotten on her finger and it was crawling around on her hand.  She did NOT like that one bit.  She finally shook her hand a little and it fell off then I proceeded to smoosh it with a napkin. She said that it tickled.  Dave and I just sat and laughed.  Her reaction was priceless and it was so funny!

Both Dawson and Kendall had parties to attend today.  Dawson went to Grand Slam for Joseph's birthday and Kendall went to Laci's birthday party (who is on her softball team but she has also seen her in school and they know a few of the same girls, it turns out!).
The weather went from so nice...to not so nice about an hour or so into the party.  Yikes!  Like the river wasn't already high enough - see the trees in the river fully immersed?

This was one of the side streets as we were driving home.  So much flooded water from such a quick, heavy downpour.
Splashing in Puddles!  Dawson and Kendall had a blast, but once Reese got splashed a little, she was down, as shown in the 2 photo!  Kendall and Dawson were drenched by the time they were done.

SEe the water in Dawson's boot?

What a sky tonight!
